How do we work?
The implementation of project activities follows a three-stage structure, involving phases of planning, execution and assessment:
- Firstly, the basic conditions for the implementation of the 50/50 system are studied with special focus on the educational systems of the partner countries. A common 50/50 methodology is developed.
- Secondly, the 50/50 is implemented during 2 years in 50 schools constituing the EURONET 50/50 network. In each school an Energy Team is set up to coordinate and monitor the implementation. In order to determine the schools’ energy baselines and the potential energy saving, energy audits are performed. Promoting the 50/50 system and the dissemination of best practices, a teaching material is also developed.
- Finally, there is an evaluation of the school’s experience and results of the project. Beyond the pilot implementation, a protocol will also be established to promote the project’s continuity.
