The project /
European projects to save energy at school
There are many european projects that encourage energy saving at school. Here you can have some of them that can be linked with the Euronet 50/50 project activities.
The overall goal of the FLICK THE SWITCH project, which is being supported by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme, is to get European kids from primary and secondary schools into the habit of switching off lights and devices when they are not in use. Simple isn’t it? In this way it is possible to prevent the enormous waste in Europe due to millions of lights, electronic gadgets and devices being left on (or on standby) when not in use.
The CARBON DETECTIVES project three year mission is to:
- link schools and pupils across Europe to help slow down the impact of global climate change
- inspire and empower young people to take practical action to save energy and carbon in school
- enthuse and support teachers to bring carbon saving to life in the classroom

In the check it out project partners from Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Spain and the Netherlands worked together to improve the energy performance of schools and disseminate best practices. The project partners performed Energy Performance Assessments (EPAs) in 90 schools, producing advice on how to improve energy performance. Recommended measures included both technical and organisational changes.
You can check the project results in the project coordinator webpage: ECOFYS
